hi everybody!!! ;)
i just wanted to say that around this time last year i took over the main editing duties of internet poetry from steve roggenbuck, who started it more than two years ago!! i want to thank everybody for reading, sharing, and most importantly submitting amazing content!! curating material for this tumblr is one of the big joys in my life - i’m always surprised and humbled by the works that people submit :)
in the last year, internet poetry has had an increasing number of things go viral (and never the ones i expect!) and has tripled its number of followers! way to go contributors!! i have some days going through submissions where i just feel excited looking at the amazing things that people create. the macros, screenshots, collages and all other genres that people have come up with have evolved in such exciting ways, and all i can do is thank everybody for the chance to watch it grow :)
just like when steve roggenbuck started it, internet poetry is meant to be a support to communities of internet-based artists/poets/personalities, and though i can’t include everything, internet poetry will always take chances on things, at all levels of involvement in the game. take a chance with us! make something weird, vain, goofy, dumb, sad - push yourself on new techniques and change the game. “there is literally a section of your life that starts right now.” go for it!!!
from the bottom of my heart, with lots of love, thanks again to everybody for making internet poetry fun and special and sweet (and big thanks to steve for taking a chance on me) - what will the third year of internet poetry bring?????
